Towards the re-establishment of the Intergroup on Children’s rights

As part of the 2024 #VoteforChildren campaign, we are advocating for the re-establishment of the Intergroup on Children’s Rights. The Intergroup on Children’s Rights is a cross-party, a cross-national group of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), working together with child-focused organisations to keep children’s rights on top of the EU agenda.

As an MEP, what can you do to support the re-establishment of the Intergroup on Children’s Rights?

  1. Download the support form
  2. Sign it
  3. Send it to louise.reeg@sos-kd.org.

You are not an MEP but still would like to help re-establish the Intergroup? Then, send this letter to your MEP.

Why is the Intergroup so important?

  • In the European Parliament, there is no Parliamentary committee that has specific responsibility for children, so having an Intergroup would allow having a body in the European Parliament specifically focussing on children’s rights and needs.
  • The Intergroup on Children’s Rights brings together MEPs from different political groups and Member States.
  • It aims to promote children’s rights and ensure that the best interest of the child is taken into account in EU internal and external action.
